CC-Link IE Technology Seminar Successfully Held in Wuhan

2018-12-01

The CC-Link IE technical standard, the first to achieve 1Gbit broadband Ethernet technology, is an open industrial bus network standard developed by the CLPA international organization through conversion by the Institute of Mechanical Instrumentation and Comprehensive Technical Economics (referred to as ITEI). This standard is based on the CC-Link IE industrial network technology over Ethernet. The converted CC-Link IE national (GB) standard has been included in ITEI’s industry promotion plan to enhance the transformation and application of small and medium-sized enterprises.

On November 2, 2018, to expand the promotion of CC-Link IE industrial network technology in central China, the ITEI Technology Promotion Center, in collaboration with the CLPA Association, the CAA Integrated Automation Technical Committee’s CC-Link Working Group, and Wuhan-based stakeholders, successfully organized the CC-Link IE Technology Seminar in Wuhan. Over 100 representatives from automotive, display panel, machinery manufacturing, telecommunications, and other industries attended the event.

Experts from ITEI, the CLPA Marketing Working Group, and member companies (including Mitsubishi Electric, Balluff, Hilscher, Festo, Nanjing Solidot, and Shanghai Powervow) delivered presentations and technical speeches on CC-Link IE, compatible product development, conformance testing, and the application of e@Factory solutions for smart factories and digital workshops. Live demonstrations, interactive exchanges, and Q&A sessions were also conducted. Special guests from the EDGECROSS Association and the OPC (China) Foundation delivered keynote reports on trending topics such as edge computing and the Industrial Internet of Things.

Researcher Li Yumin from ITEI and CLPA Secretary-General Zhang Rong co-chaired the seminar. They introduced ITEI’s standardization efforts and the development of the CC-Link protocol family, as well as CLPA’s global and domestic technical promotion achievements, membership growth, and compatible product expansion. CLPA Senior Engineer Gan Shuang and Application Engineer Qiu Xiaodong elaborated on the evolution, current status, technical features, and certification processes of CC-Link/CC-Link IE. Mr. Mizushima Kazuya of Mitsubishi Electric presented the e@Factory solution under the theme “Maximizing Synergy Among People, Machines, and IT,” detailing its core functionalities for customized production and real-time process monitoring.

CLPA member companies showcased product developments, system solutions, and cross-industry applications of CC-Link/CC-Link IE technology. Mr. He Yuanmiao from Wuhan China Star Optoelectronics shared user perspectives on CC-Link IE Control in CIM systems, raising expectations such as expanding communication node capacity, improving transmission speeds, and enhancing multi-platform stability. Discussions continued actively in the seminar’s WeChat group for CC-Link IE technical exchange.

Post-event, organizers and speakers summarized feedback collected through attendee surveys, proposing recommendations to strengthen CC-Link standard promotion and technical outreach.
