The application of Solidot's Remote I/O Module XB6S in the rice packaging line

A rice packaging line is an automated packaging line used to complete processes such as rice weighing, bagging, sealing and palletizing. It typically consists of feeding, weighing, bagging, sealing and inspection systems, and can significantly improve packaging efficiency and ensure consistent product quality.

1. Production process overview

Rice packaging line workflow: feeding → weighing → bagging → sealing → inspection → palletizing

[Feeding]

The storage silo conveys rice to the weighing hopper via a vibratory feeder or conveyor to ensure continuous feeding.

[Weighing]

A high-accuracy weighing sensor monitors the weight in real time; feeding stops when the preset value is reached, and a weight-OK signal is generated.

[Bagging and sealing]

Once the packaging bag is in position, the bagging valve opens to complete filling; the heat-sealing or bag-sewing device starts to complete sealing.

[Inspection and sorting]

Various sensors check seal integrity and weight; non-conforming products are rejected by the sorting mechanism.

[Palletizing]

Conforming products are conveyed to the palletizing area by conveyor belt and stacked in a preset pattern before being output.

2. I/O module application mode

This packaging line uses the PROFINET bus protocol. The digital input module XB6S-3200 and the digital output module XB6S-0032B are connected to the PLC via the coupler XB6S-PN2002. The digital input module XB6S-3200 transmits the signals from the various sensors on the rice packaging line, such as the weight-reached signal and the bag-in-position signal; the digital output module XB6S-0032B transmits signals to the various actuators on the rice packaging line according to the commands from the control system, such as start/stop of the conveyor motor, operation of the heat-sealing or bag-sewing device, and actuation of the sorting mechanism.
