Solidot EtherCAT Bus Valve Terminal Communication Troubleshooting and Solutions

2025-07-14

When using Solidot EtherCAT bus valve terminals (C2S or C2P series), configuration is performed via PLC software. This article details troubleshooting steps for communication failures.

1. Status Confirmation

  • Observe the RUN light blinking continuously without entering OP state.

2. Cause Analysis

Failure to enter normal operation may result from:

(1) Power sequence error: System side and field side not powered simultaneously or in reverse order.
(2) Configuration mismatch between software settings and physical product.

3. Solution Examples

【Case 1】

Issue: EtherCAT valve terminals require simultaneous power-on or field-side-first power sequence. The terminal automatically scans solenoids to configure driver chips. If field-side powers on last, communication fails (defaults to 24-bit configuration).

Solution:

  • Option 1: Power field side first, then system side (separate power supplies).

  • Option 2: For shared power supply (4 wires), connect same-polarity wires to identical terminals without jumper tabs to ensure simultaneous startup.

【Case 2】

Issue: Configuration mismatch (e.g., configuring C2S-EC-12B for actual C2S-EC-24B valve terminal).

Solution:
Delete incorrect configuration, rematch model settings, download new configuration, and power-cycle the valve terminal.
