The Solidot PTO pulse output module XB6S-PT04A can be connected externally to stepper/servo motor drives to control them by outputting pulse trains. During use, some application scenarios require utilizing the module's digital input channels as standard DI inputs. This article provides a detailed explanation of the configuration method.
This module allows any digital input to be modified to standard mode, which disables the positive limit, negative limit, origin, and brake functions. The 4 channels correspond to a total of 16 bits. Setting the corresponding bit to 1 configures it as a standard digital input.
Example:
【Example 1】To disable the positive limit for Channel 0, set bit 1 to 1 (Binary 2#0001 equals Decimal 10#1).
【Example 2】To disable the positive limit for Channel 1, set bit 5 to 1 (Binary 2#0001 0000 equals Decimal 10#16).
Note: When the origin input is repurposed, the homing function becomes invalid.
1. Operational Guide
After establishing normal communication and configuration via the IO Config Tool software, navigate to the parameter setting interface shown below. Here, you can see the 16-bit configuration for the digital input channel functions. The default value is 0, meaning the inputs function normally as positive/negative limits, origin, and brake.

As shown in red box ①: The input channel icons for Channels 0, 1, and 2 are default blank circles, indicating that the limit, origin, and brake functions are active.
As shown in black box ②: The four input channel icons for Channel 3 are blue circles, indicating that these inputs have been converted to standard DI inputs.
After checking the channels you wish to configure, click the 'Download' button in box ③ to send the command to the module.
2. Result Demonstration

When the positive limit input channels for both Channel 0 and Channel 3 are triggered, Channel 0 reports an error code of 4096 (Positive Limit Alarm). However, Channel 3, whose input function was set to standard DI, does not trigger a limit alarm.
The above is the detailed configuration guide for the digital input function of the Solidot Remote I/O XB6S PTO pulse output module. Thank you for reading.
