How to modify the analog range of IO modules under Modbus TCP protocol

In industrial production control, especially in continuous production processes, physical quantities such as temperature, pressure and flow are often required to be controlled. These physical quantities all vary continuously over time. In the control field, such physical quantities that vary continuously with time are called analog quantities.


Common analog current ranges include 4 ... 20 mA and 0 ... 20 mA, while common analog voltage ranges include -10 ... 10 V and 0 ... 10 V. In practical applications, when sensors, transmitters and other devices with different measuring ranges are used, the analog module must be set to the corresponding measuring range. The following uses Shidian Technology modules as an example to describe how to modify the analog range under the Modbus TCP protocol.


1. Method for modifying the analog range on Slice modules


↑Slice Coupler:XB6-MT2002ST


The factory default IP address of the XB6-MT2002ST Coupler with an analog module is 192.168.1.120. Users can modify it via the Web interface.



The default analog current range 0 is 4 ... 20 mA. After modifying the range, click Update to apply the change.



The default analog voltage range 0 is -10 ... 10 V. After modifying the range, click Update to apply the change.



The default sensor type for the temperature module is PT100. After modifying the sensor type, click Update to apply the change. To activate a channel, set the channel enable to 1 and click Update to apply the change.



2. Method for modifying the analog range on Integrated I/O Modules


↑Modbus TCP Integrated I/O:MT4-A40I


The factory default IP address of the MT4 Integrated I/O Module is 192.168.1.120. Users can modify the address value via the master software using function code 16.



The default analog voltage range 0 is -10 ... 10 V, and the default analog current range 0 is 4 ... 20 mA.
